Final Painting: Adding a 'risk' colour.

I've been spending my days tooing and throwing between these paintings as it's keeping me in direct conversation with the whole image. As I shift between them, I constantly receive information on how to approach each time they sit in front of me.

After many days of painstakingly 'filling in the gaps' of my sketched compositions, I felt a much-needed shift in a more fluid and different direction as I hit the dry spot of creativity. I decided to add a risk colour to help bring them back to life and get me out of this hole I was in. Reverting to my Adobe Colour application, I looked for something that may complement, yet not deter from the original colour palette, and thus pink emerged.

I'm still figuring out whether or not this pink works with the overall image as it may take away from this nostalgic, vintage feel it holds already. I feel an exploration of tonal value and chroma is necessary. There is already a story here, and the pink, in some way takes from it.

I guess that the purpose of adding this risk colour was to create some sort of challenge to see how it would complement the composition in some way. As I mentioned, I've been in a dry spot for some time and this challenge in a way, has reignited my fire again. I'll make it work somehow!

Let me know in the comments section what your thoughts are!
